About us

PILGRIM offers something a little bit different as a dedicated late-night music venue that delivers a high-quality, intimate and safe environment where the focus is all about the music (complemented with the cocktails, speciality beers & wines, and our stylish decor and artworks that visitors love)

Established in 2011 as ‘Hoochie Coochie’, we have long been a favourite venue of music fans who make a pilgrimage to visit us from across the UK, Europe and beyond to dance at our famous afternoon and evening club events or to worship the many Grammy-winning stars and touring acts to have performed on our stage including Sting, Chaka Khan, Gregory Porter, Candi Staton, Angie Stone, Arrested Development, Brand New Heavies, Incognito, Don Letts and more - as well as superstar DJs like Dimitri From Paris, The Reflex, Craig Charles, John Morales, and Norman Jay.

We’re also passionate about supporting emerging artists and new music - often working with partner venues and organisations. We are an official MOBO 2025 Awards venue and welcome touring acts and festival favourites including Corto Alto, Smoove & Turrell, High Fade, Knats, The Allergies, Casino and more.

My first visit, yesterday. Great music and atmosphere. Very courteous and professional bar staff. I didn’t dine, so unable to score the food. An all round happy vibe. Looking forward to future visits.

A great night at the Tyneside home of soul and funk, made even better with a storming set from the Tomorrow Band (featuring Hamish Stuart). The perfect setting!
