The Star, in the Hertfordshire village of Standon is situated on the peaceful high street in the centre of the village. The pub has the warm and cosy feel of a British country pub within a beautiful old building that is full of character. The pub offers a mixed trading style, although food is gaining share. The pub is in fine condition and makes the most of its many character features. It also offers a lovely dining room, vaulted ceiling, a snug with its own bar and darts board which is ideal for social drinking and a wonderful garden which is mostly laid to lawn and has many attractive trees and shrubs. The garden is vast and offers many seating options on the grass, as well as a large area to the rear of the pubs plot which is laid to lawn and would be ideal for hosting various events and offers views of the local countryside. This pub is a very successful business and has only become available due to retirement. The Star appeals to destination diners at both lunch time and evenings, locals looking for a social occasion and has the potential to drive further sales via events and occasions.
