Having gone back in time to the days of 'Jacks', the pub had the original beams and loft from 'Jacks'. It was clean and tidy, and the atmosphere from the customers, was felt in a good positive way for people to meet and relax. The service was second to none. The staff were welcoming and friendly and proficient. Was well worth the travel from Clacton to this lovely self brewing brew house/bar.

Really nice place to grab a decent pint and a really good toastie! We only went for lunch but really enjoyed what we ate. Other punters were up for a chat which made it an even better experience!

As an American, I can hardly say you’re dishing up ‘American classics.’ We waited 40 minutes for our food only to be brought out a lukewarm cheeseburger and 4 of the saddest wings one has ever seen. I literally picked up a ‘wing’ that was nothing but bone as the server was handing me my food and he asked if I wanted him to go speak to the cook. Honestly I don’t even understand why the cook would even think it acceptable to use the wing in the first place? My husband asked for a side of mayonnaise and that also never arrived. I had high hopes for this place, and it was incredibly disappointing. We won’t be returning.
