ex Beverley's then Wilson's pub (see the black and white photos on the wall) behind the former Red House Museum. Stone ram's head above the fire place. Popular, separate tap room off to the right, comfortable main and rear lounges, both with soothing real fires. A fine, smart community pub with a good, enclosed garden. Quiz Tuesdays 8:30pm. Free pool every Wednesday from 4pm. Beer range changes occasionally. Usually one cider on handpull. Food not served but can be arranged for functions. Buses 200,254,255 and 271 pass nearby. Ample parking on adjacent streets.
THE best proper pub for miles. REAL beer in great condition. A gem.
Best pub I go to on my walks. Absolutely rammed today, Saturday afternoon (25.11.2023). Still a great welcome from the family when I pop in from time to time. They always remember my drink 🍻 which is really nice.
Great local pub with cozy log burners. Excellent quiz on a Tuesday evening; free to enter and includes supper!
