About us

Welcome to the Silent Woman Inn, a family run pub based in the heart of Wareham Forest, where you are guaranteed a warm welcome.

Our menu is ever evolving to ensure freshly cooked, locally sourced seasonal food. Our chargrill Grill section offers a fantastic choice of locally sourced steaks served with homemade Badger beer battered onion rings. Or what about an amazing Sunday Roast? Standard Roast choice Large Roast or Extra large with (Winter only) all three meats along with lots of extras such as cauliflower & broccoli cheese, pigs in blankets, stuffing balls & an extra Yorkshire pudding.

Children and dogs are welcome, however, please let us know upon booking if you are bringing your furry friends as we have a separate area for dogs, and of course a dog free restaurant for our other guests.

We are excited to announce the recent opening – just in time for the sunshine - of our newly constructed OUTLAND, an outdoor kitchen and bar area for the new season, specialising in pizzas from our own stone-base pizza oven. Keep an eye on our Facebook (The Silent Woman) and Instagram (@thesilentwomaninn) pages for information on any special events and menus.

There are some fantastic walks from the nearby caravan parks to The Silent Woman (but if you’re looking for some peace and quiet - you’ll not find many ‘Silent Women’ here!).

From May to September there is a local bus service that runs from Wareham Forest Tourist Park to Swanage/Wareham (stopping at all the caravan parks and the Silent Woman). So, if you want to explore the local area without the car you can visit Arne, Corfe Castle, and Swanage among others and enjoy a hassle-free day and finish here for a lovely meal and a well-earned drink – or two… or three….

Had a very enjoyable meal at The Silent Woman earlier this week. Despite being a quiet Monday night partly due to a road closure outside the pub the hosts were very welcoming and went out of there way to please. In particular having informed in advance of a non meat eating diet the chef cooked up a delicious plant based Spanish Chicken style dish. Coupled with a very nice selection of beers and wines I am looking forward to a return visit next time I am visiting the Wareham area.

After a long journey down for a weekend away with the kids we popped in for a spare of the moment booking. Very accommodating and booked us in before we arrived 15minutes later! We were greeted and shown our table and were made to feel very welcome. We had the Sunday roast beef which was outstanding. As a Sunday roast pro this ranks there in the top 3 I've had. The beef was like butter and the gravy was delicious... would happily sit and dunk potatoes and bread into the gravy all night long. A very good pub wish it was more local to us! Thankyou

Beautiful food, great service. A lovely homey feel. Staff are very welcoming. Definitely will be visiting again. Great that they welcome muddy paws too! 🐾🤩

A very humble and welcoming vintage style pub. The staff are brilliant, and make you feel at home. The pub has these low beams and little tucked away areas to eat, which made me feel very cosy. Dog walkers and muddy feet wanderers welcome. The main meals can be a bit pricey.... But you do get what you pay for. We had food from the lunch/small bites menu, which are actually big portions at around £14 each.

We came here for lunch and there really weren’t many varying options. Light bites included brioche rolls and jumbo hot dog - which didn’t seem so light to me! Service was good, although our waitresses couldn’t answer a few of our questions about the menu. Outside area seemed nice. Overall it was okay but I would go somewhere else if you’re looking for more choice.
