The Kings Arms, Wareham is an idyllic traditional thatched pub that internally boasts a number of cosy snug areas within for over 40 covers. The main bar area has a beautiful open fireplace that is constantly in use in the colder months. Set on the main high street, the pub is used frequently by local customers for both food and drink and in the spring/summer months by an influx of tourists flocking to this popular location of Dorset. The pub seating can be rearranged to accommodate live music, which is a popular feature of this business. An adequately sized galley kitchen is also located at the pub with good storage provided. Externally, there is a good-sized beer garden located to the back of the property that can be developed to drive further trade. The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom.
Atmosphere on an open mic night was great. Still cannot fathom why they stop serving at 10pm... 🙄 Lovely pub in the town, full of quirky things due to its age. Would definitely recommend.
Love it here! If there's a wait for food, we're told upon arrival. Worth waiting for! Friendly welcome.
Proper pub, log fire in the bar, amazing sausage sandwich, and really friendly welcome. Dog loved it too.
We stopped here for a quick lunch during the pandemic. The inside of the pub looked cozy and inviting but we ate on one of the twelve available garden tables. There is a fairly short menu of pub basics. The chips were quite good, but chicken goujons seemed a little overdone. What earns it a fourth star is being dog friendly and the amazing floral display of hanging baskets out front. The staff and landlord were very nice and welcoming.
A classic, old fashioned English pub with low ceilings, lots of little books and crannies to hide in and a good range of beers. The staff are really friendly too. Our lunch was pretty good, although the pudding was completely dried up, which they apologised for and refunded.
