About us

A traditional street corner local, situated just outside the town centre, with a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere & community spirit. There is easy access to public transport, the railway station is within walking distance and there are several bus stops close by. Although the car park is small there is a large local authority car park opposite. The pub has a 1980s retro games machine, which is claimed t be one of only two left in pubs within the UK. It features 20 of the most popular games from that era, including space invaders, donkey kong, packman and wonder boy. The pub may remain open late on Fridays & Saturdays. Fully refurbished in 2023. Bar snacks are available.

Great pub with a good selection of really cheap beers, great pint of guinness.

Brilliant. The recent makeover of the pub has made a great change to the feeling when inside without losing the fireplace and other areas that set it apart. Well done team and all involved.

Top boozer , food great quality and value, popular drinks!!! Homely feel to it with plenty of tv's for multiple sports Staff are characters!!! Recently renivated Best in town
