Large pub with an open plan u-shaped bar around a central servery. Approx. one mile (15 mins) from town centre on A34. Log burner in top room near the bar. Pool & darts for public use, separate room with two professional pool tables for league games. On several bus routes in and out of town centre. A clean and comfortable pool with good local trade. Pub may close early in the evening if not busy. Occasional guest beer, often Sharp's.
This place is not really open that often
Back in the 90s, this was THE place to go for a great night. Called in early doors for a quick pint, and the Guinness was excellent. Really clean place with relaxed, comfortable decor. I could see it returning to its heady heyday if the council invested in cleaning up the surrounding area (old job centre opposite is a derelict eyesore that needs knocking down) and encouraging other businesses back. The Wagon & Horses would be buzzing again..
Just stopped in for a drink with some friends, friendly staff quality beer ( Draft Bass ) good prices
Land Lady very nice Land Lord can be grumpy but helpful. Nice pint and a good game ov pool with good lads
Very good Guiness at very good price. As are all the beers 🍻
