Shambolic! We arrived at 1930 for our table. on sitting down we waited to order our drinks, but then waited 45 minutes to order our meal; on ordering they didn't have my first or second choice or my wife's! This was our time to leave; I raised the issue with the owner who explained that they were 'phasing' out dishes ready for new options in a week's time, this could have been messaged on arrival!! I'm a professional Chef and have been for 30 years so know how a kitchen should run, so this isn't an ill informed review.

The Tap managed a buffet for an event & the food was absolutely lovely. Chicken wings, tayters, sandwiches & chille, all very tasty. The staff were all really nice too! I'd definitely eat there again 😋

Food was lovely. Staff were very welcoming. And for once it was proper mash instead of smash so made the roast dinner better 😋. Definitely going back. Edit: went back again and had steak dinner. Food was good but mash potatoes not as nice this time , but steak was lovely. Went above and beyond to make me a espresso caramel martini . Staff again very welcoming.

Had an amazing experience! The steak was cooked well, the onion rings were crispy and the steak burger was exceptional. My girlfriend and I were really pleased with both our meals, and I'll definitely come again if I find myself in Stafford again.

This place is just off a main road, so could easily be missed. But if you can try to make it as you will be happy with your choice. Small things such as house water came in a jug with a glass full of ice with a slice of lemon. This is not something that others make this sort of effort and also try the garlic bread with the trimmings- delicious. We both had steak, sirloin and rib-eye. Both done to our requested cook level. Would definitely recommend this to others and hope you will also enjoy the meal(s). Staff were very attentive and helpful which also makes a enjoyable visit.
