Sadly no pictures of food - tired and hungry and forgot about reviewing till after... Suffice to say, take it on trust; great food, great selection of drinks, lots of vegan offers through to hot pork scratchings at the bar - something for everyone (if you want pizza, burgers or tacos) but a genuinely lovely place - solo traveling for work and nice selection of seating so you don't feel like the weirdo 🤣 great booths, lovely staff, would highly recommend - Birmingham has a lot to offer but this is worth the visit 👍👍👍

My first experience of the Head of Steam as I don't get back home to Brum often. Clearly a busy popular place in town. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the many drinks choices the offer there. The cask Porter that I had was lovely, although I felt the temperature was slightly too cold. But still wasn't disappointed by how well it was kept and tasted. Look forward to visiting again hopefully soon. Highly recommend!!

What can I say. Fridge and bar was full of craft and sours that were stunning, including several Vault City beers, most of which were vegan. Vegan menu had a load of choices. The app made things easier if you wanted to use it. However, it didn't list the fridge beers. The music was great with a mixture of Alt/Indie and Rock. Would definitely return Staff were helpful and food arrived within 15 minutes

Fantastic venue for food. The atmosphere was very good. The chicken wings are a definitely must must have. Many different ales as well.

The Head of Steam was really nice because I’ve never seen so many tasty vegan options on a menu before. I honestly wanted to try everything! The food was good for the most part but the chips…were different. They had a unique texture which I feel people will either love or hate. You can either order via the app or go up to the bar, it was tricky via the app because you had to put a table number but the tables weren’t numbered? Unless I missed it? We went around midday on a Friday so it was extremely quiet and I loved that. The food came out quickly with a variety of sauces and staff were attentive. It had quite low lighting at the back if you wanted a more intimate feel. The toilets were really clean too.
