About us

A ‘local in the heart of the city’, this small, cosy pub won the local CAMRA branches Best Community Pub Award in 2012, The pub is very handy for all public transport, and attracts people from all over the city, and visitors as well, with lively conversation the theme of every day. It is not unusual to find yourself in lively discussion with complete strangers.

Tastefully refurbished in 2012 it has kept its traditional atmosphere, and photographs on the wall recall the pubs history. A sloping floor takes you through to the tiny rear lounge where the Merseyside Branch of CAMRA was founded in 1974: there is even a plaque on the wall to mark this momentous occasion! The sloping floor has been known to fool unwary drinkers who may have slightly overindulged.

We often play classic pop and rock & roll songs from the 50s and 60s on the music system, sometimes leading to spontaneous community singalongs, or occasionally if space permits – dancing!

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Very cool pub in Central Liverpool. This place has so much charm and a fascinating decor. The staff are super friendly and clientele are chill, recommended for a good quality "quiet" pint.

They don't serve food here, but that doesn't stop the lovely atmosphere and fab friendly people who gather in this small cosy pub. I would recommend you try this place out, the staff are so friendly and there's always a character or two. A good time to be had here.

Excellent, small, "real" Liverpool pub (whatever that means). Great atmosphere, decent cask ale. The terrible Drifters/Motown 60s playlist stopped me staying longer. Opens an hour earlier than most pubs in the locality.

A busy pub opposite Central station. Well worth visiting to see the ornate interior.
