About us

A classic Victorian pub interior with plenty of wood panelling, many photos and posters and a fine island bar and staircase. Access from both Jackson's Row and Lloyd Street. First floor provides pool room with 4 pool tables and function room with a second bar. Second floor has roof garden, but this is not always open. Resident DJ Friday and Saturday nights. Live music on the second Sunday every month.

Decent boozer, good city centre location, stands out amongst some more trendy “bars”. Karaoke on a Friday night which was very entertaining! Good pint of Guinness.

Will out doubt this best pub in manchester, absolutely Brilliant, Mr Phill recommend me and ste from explore manchester go there, we recommend you all go to, the artwork and hostoty is amazing, truly if you go and don't agree feel free to post a comment. Milo the owners son will refund your pint.

The most authentic British experience I've ever had. Great staff, great beer, great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend, and will come back. Greetings from Mexico!

Lovely little local pub. We went in to watch the Grand National as they were showing it on their TVs. Very welcoming and attentive bar staff. Reasonably priced drinks. It's a lovely little find down a side street, you're made to feel like one of the locals.

Been a while since Flat visired this homage to Manchester pub. ( esp UNITED). walls covered in photos of days gone by. Georgie Best in particular. Chose a good pint of Taylor's Landlord over Black Sheep, Dizzy Blond and Doom Bar. Pub has good roof terrace for better months than Jan. Used to love walking into the Rising Sun from Lincoln Squsre..out back..into Nags Head, out back..down alley into Lord Abercrombie. Very short pub crawl! ( Building work cutting off back alley..!)
